If you would like to find out more about veganism (and dispel a few myths in the process), check out the Vegan Society! You can give them a call, ask for a free information pack, and discuss any questions you may have!
PAWING is rarely able to take in unwanted animals, due to the space and time our present rescues require. On rare occasions, we do offer animals for rehoming but that will be clear on our home page! If you would like to offer a home for a rescue animal - or if you need to find a rescue that can take animals in your area, the Animal Rescuers site is a fabulous starting point.
Far from drinking pints of oil and wielding baseball bats at anyone who looks at them the wrong way, a brand new Motorbike Club has been formed to raise funds for those in need. They organise ride-outs to help charities and they hold animal causes very close to their hearts - check out Revolting Animals MCC!
Midlands Vegan Campaigns promote awareness of animal issues and the huge benefits of the vegan diet. They organise interesting events, campaign for better treatment of animals and the environment and have information stalls in and around the Midlands area.
If you have the time and space in your garden, why not adopt some unwanted chickens? In the UK alone, there are over 20 million laying hens confined to battery cages. When they are considered 'spent', they go to slaughter. For a lucky few however, there are groups who arrange with the farmers to rescue and rehome the hens. One such group is The British Hen Welfare Trust. If you would like to know more about battery hens, their site is full of useful information.
Forget-Me-Not Animal Rescue is a vegan rescue which cares for all animals, regardless of whether they are farmed, domestic or wild. With a huge emphasis on the benefits of a cruelty-free lifestyle, this lovely website is a must-visit!
We often, quite rightly, think that dogs and cats in the UK get a raw deal - but for animals worldwide, life can be unbearable. In Thailand, street dogs and cats often have nobody to help them and can be left to die of horrific injuries and diseases. There is however, hope in the form of an organisation which promotes kindness, spaying and neutering. Please visit SCAD today to find out about how you can help!
